What I Wore: Shirt (Similar Here), Sweater (J.C. Penny; Similar Here), Pearls (Similar Here), Pants (59th Street; Similar Here), Shoes (Modcloth), Socks (Target)

Over the weekend, we attended a memorial service, a sombre yet in it's own way celebratory event, and this was what I wore (Our friend loved fashion, so I like to think she'd have liked this). It was unexpected, and she was one of those people who was very effervescent- drew you in and yet never made you feel overwhelmed. She always very positive herself, and full of joie de vivre.
It makes me want to live my life with more of that- more joy, more grace, more deliberate gratitude and laughter. They read an email she had written not long ago talking about how she was trying to remember more often of all the very good things in her life (except, she teased her correspondent, the coming cold. She would complain of that!). The day was full of friends supporting one another, of food and dancing, of poetry. I am full of gratitude for of those things.
